Welcome to the Minecraft Club FAQ! Below are answers to common questions about membership, gameplay, events, payments, and safety. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact us at [email protected].

 

Membership & Eligibility

How do I sign up more than one child?

Each child must be signed up individually with a unique email address. We know this isn’t ideal, but our system currently does not support multiple members under one email.

What ages can join Minecraft Club?

Membership is open to children aged 8 and above. However, we allow Year 3 students (or international equivalents) to join, even if they are still 7 years old. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us.

Can my child be a member if we live outside the UK?

Yes! We welcome international members as long as they can speak English fluently, as all activities and interactions are conducted in English.

What happens when my child turns 14?

Members can stay until the end of August in the school year they turn 14 (typically end of Year 9). We celebrate with a farewell party, after which subscriptions end, and access is removed.

For one extra month, they can still access the Social Hub to stay in touch with friends. After that, their account will be permanently closed, and all data will be erased.

 

Access & Gameplay

What versions of Minecraft are supported?

Our server supports Java Edition (PC) and Bedrock Edition (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile).

The following versions are NOT supported:

  • Minecraft Education Edition
  • Minecraft Legends
  • Minecraft Dungeons
  • Older Legacy Console Versions
Is Minecraft free?

No, Minecraft must be purchased from your preferred game store. Prices vary depending on the edition and platform. Make sure you buy either Java or Bedrock Edition to play on our server.

Can we access the server outside of Social Club hours?

Yes! The server is available daily from 6 AM to 9 PM (UK time), regardless of whether the Social Club is running.

 

Events & Social Club

What happens if I miss a Thursday Social?

No worries! The Social Club is optional, and missing a session will not affect your membership.

Does the Social Club continue during school holidays?

Typically, yes. However, some sessions may be rescheduled for major holidays or due to admin availability. We will notify members in advance of any changes.

 

Payments & Costs

How much does Minecraft Club cost?

£2.99 per week or £11.99 per month. There are no hidden fees, and you can cancel anytime.

Are there any extra costs?

No. The subscription fee covers everything. However, some consoles (e.g., Xbox, Switch) require an online gaming pass to access multiplayer servers, which may have additional costs.

Can I pay extra to improve my rank?

No. Ranks are earned through gameplay and participation. Everyone is treated equally, and there are no pay-to-win advantages.

 

Safety & Verification

Why does my child need to appear on camera during verification?

To ensure all members meet our age requirements, a verification call is required between our Admin and a responsible adult. The child must appear on camera briefly to confirm their identity. This is the only time they are required to do so.

Are verification calls recorded?

Yes, all verification calls are recorded and securely stored on Zoom for safeguarding purposes.

Can I request to block my child from accessing the server if they are grounded?

Currently, this feature is not available, but we are open to implementing it if there is enough demand.
