Rules
There are 3 Sections of Rules for Members based on their activity – Gameplay, Chat and Website.
We have simplified the rules the best we can, and although we advise you read all the rules, they can all be summed up to –
Play Nicely, Be friendly and don’t do things that could upset other members, parents or admins. It is only a game after all.
For more detailed information click the headings below.
Gameplay Rules
No Cheating or Hacking Accounts
The following are not allowed under any circumstances:
- Cheating – No using cheats (such as mods) that give you an unfair advantage. Also nothing that gives you x-ray or abilities that are not intended for the game.
- Abusing glitches – duplication glitches, economy or plug-in glitches, etc. are not allowed to be abused. All glitches should be reported immediately to an Admin.
- AFK – You can not use any outside tools to move your player to avoid being kicked for inactivity.
- Unapproved mods & Clients – No unapproved mods or clients may be used on Minecraft Club.
No Griefing
Griefing refers to the intentional, unapproved editing or damaging of another player’s property. This is not acceptable behaviour for any reason.
Griefing is:
- Damaging another player’s build, even if it is not protected.
- Killing another player’s pets or mobs.
- Protecting builds, chests, or doors that do not belong to you
Protections
Minecraft Club protects the builds of players to prevent others from damaging them, the following guidelines must apply to all builds:
- Builds must be a reasonable distance away from the nearest build belonging to another player.
- All houses within the town walls are protected whilst you own/rent them.
- Outside of town you can use claim blocks to protect an area of land for you to build on without worrying about griefing. You can manage your friends so they can build with you in your area.
- You must protect your builds, items and chests -whilst every effort will be made to restore things to how they were prior to any problems, it can be difficult to restore all items, so make sure you always keep them in a chest located in your regions to protect them.
- Any friends you allow access to your building will also have access to the chests so only put items in chests when you trust the players you are with. If you do not you can use an ender chest at the Survival Spawn to store your items (ender chests allow every user to store their own items and to retrieve those items from any ender chest)
Family Friendly Builds Only
We hope that everyone on Minecraft Club uses good judgement about building things appropriate for use in Minecraft on a child friendly server. If while exploring you find an inappropriate build, report it and an admin will take a look as soon as possible and remove it if necessary.
We will remove builds that we deem inappropriate, including but not limited to: Any symbol, emblem, or shape that represents an intolerant or hateful group. Any representation of male or female private body part(s). Any swearing or hateful words spelt out with blocks, on signs, or in books.
There must be no references to Sex, Alcohol or Drugs anywhere.
Skins and Banners
If your skin or banner is used with intent to scare, annoy, harass, or impose a view or position on to other players, a helper or admin may ask you to change your skin and/or remove the banner before returning to gameplay. Skins and Banners need to be family-friendly including but not limited to:
- No Herobrine, Creepypasta, or Five Nights at Freddy’s skins.
- No blood or gore of any kind on skins.
- No indecent exposure or naked skins.
One Account Per Player
Alternative and shared accounts are not allowed for any reason on Minecraft Club. Alternative accounts will be removed from the white-list and shared accounts will be handled accordingly by staff. If you change your Minecraft username you must inform us so we can add your new name to the allow list.
Redstone
Staff reserves the right to request any build be removed if it is too demanding of the server as this can affect the performance of the server. All redstone builds MUST abide by the following:
- No continuously running redstone clocks or machines
- No more than 50 hoppers can be used in a build.
Tamed animals
- Do not leave any pets sitting in any area that is not yours. Admins will not know who they belong to and they will be removed and you will not have the opportunity to get the animal back.
- Pets are not damage-proof! If you take them out of your area, they may not be safe. Wolves and cats are damaged by arrows and flames and wolves can take fall damage.
- We recommend you keep pets safe at home. Take care of your pets in the game as you would a pet in real life.
- We can not restore animals, so you must keep them safe if you don’t want anything to happen to them.
Stop means Stop
If you are doing something that is causing upset to another player and they are asking you to stop doing what you are doing, you must respect that and stop. Continuing this behaviour could be considered as bullying. If however you feel you are doing nothing wrong please explain this in the chat. All chat is seen by Admin and by explaining the situation you allow the Admin to understand what is happening better. It may also help resolve the problem with the other player as often incidents happen due to misunderstandings which can be solved by discussing the problem with one another.
Chat Rules
No Spamming
Spamming is where you repeatedly say something over and over again. Spamming is not permitted as it can affect the enjoyment of other players. There are automatic systems in place which will mute and ban repeated offenders.
No Offensive Words
Our server is set up to auto-block many ‘bad’ words. However it is possible to get around it in many different ways, especially by implication. It is not appropriate to use or imply bad and offensive words on the server and any instances of such behaviour potentially could result in being banned.
Think about what you are saying and how others might read it
When you say something online, in text format, it can easily be misunderstood by others. This can lead to situations spiralling into more problematic behaviours. It is important for all users to be considerate of the words they are using and to consider how others will read them. It is also important not to make quick decisions about what you think another person means. A lot of the time, problems surrounding what people are saying is often through misunderstanding, rather than someone being intentionally mean.
Website Rules
Website rules apply to users while on the Minecraftclub.co.uk website, particularly the forum and social sections. Please ensure you follow these rules at all times
Only use Social pages with parental permission
Our social pages are designed to give children the ability to chat to other members without the need to share information, such as email, phone number etc…
This feature can only be used with parental consent and it is up to you to ensure your parent or guardian is happy for you to use it.
Do Not Share any photos
The website is not a place for you to upload your own images. The only acceptable uploads are Minecraft uploads. All images will be reviewed regularly to make sure they only show screenshots of Minecraft related content.
No Catfishing
Catfishing is when you pretend to be someone else online. Do not do this. It is deception and unacceptable behaviour for any member to pretend to be someone other than the Minecraft user they are.
No Public Sharing of personal information
This applies to both your personal information and that of other peoples. Known as Doxing, giving out others information can have unintended and serious consequences and this behaviour is not allowed on the website under any conditions.
Consequences
On Minecraft Club we try to be fair and reasonable, we understand that children need forgiveness and the ability to learn from their mistakes. We have several tools to help us maintain a safe and family-friendly environment. What tool is used is at the discretion of the Admin online at the time. In most situations, there will be one or more verbal warnings in public and/or private messages prior to further action being taken.
If you or your child experiences any of these consequences we may stop you from accessing the server until we contact the guardian on record to explain the reason why and to explain what will happen if continued incidents occur.
Mute
Mutes prevent the players from speaking in chat or channels and are generally reserved for chat violations. You will usually be messaged concerning why you were muted and can often respond via a book or signs.
Kicked
A player may get kicked off the server if they break the rules just once, this is not a ban and users are able to connect again straight away. The reason we kick members is we can leave an exact reason for them. Users are not permitted to rejoin the server until they agree to stop the behaviour. If the behaviour persists further punishments may be issued.
Jail
Jail is a room that players cannot leave or interact with other players. Jail is typically, but not exclusively, reserved for violations of gameplay rules. Players may be held there until staff can contact their parent or guardian
Ban
In extreme cases, players who repeatedly make poor choices will be temporarily unable to access the Minecraft Club server or Social Website. The time-frame is at the discretion of the admins, however, some players will remain banned until their parents can be contacted to help us help the player better understands the rules.
Allow list Removal
Rarely, but sometimes, players are removed from the allow list for a period of time, effectively being suspended. This is used for players who are continually destructive or show signs that they are not ready to participate in a multiplayer server. Upon rejoining the server the player will be monitored for their behaviour and continued reoccurrences could result in a permanent ban.
Note to Players
All rules and punishments are aimed at making the server and social club as enjoyable, accessible and safe as possible for all users. It is important to follow these rules, but if your behaviour is causing problems for other players and falls outside the scope of these rules the admin may request you stop and explain why. Failure to stop could result in a punishment being given. The Admin has a responsibility for the safety and security of all members and so they base their decision on those factors when considering all actions.
